ABOUT THE RM

The Rural Municipality of Connaught No. 457 was incorporated as a Rural Municipality on the 1st day of January, 1912.  The RM is located in the North East area of Saskatchewan with the closest major urban centers being Nipawin and Tisdale.

Council past and present are always concerned with the proper discharge of their responsibilities as stated in The Municipalities Act, and strive to exercise the powers the Act confers to the best of their abilities and knowledge.

The council is the main body of local government.  As citizen representatives, they have a vested interest in the welfare of their community.   Council is a policy making group whose responsibility is to decide how the municipality should run.

RM funding is from the annual taxes levied to each parcel of land and improvement as well as several government grants and revenue sharing.
