2024 ELECTIONS
The next municipal election will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 for the offices of Reeve, Division 1, Division 3 and Division 5 Councilors.
There will also be a by-election for Division 6 councilor.

NOMINATIONS
The nomination period will open mid-September and close at 4:00 pm on October 9, 2024.
All nomination forms must include a Personal Disclosure Statement.
To be eligible for nomination, you must be:

at least 18 years old on Election Day
-
not disqualified by any Act
-
a Canadian Citizen
-
eligible to vote in the RM
-
has resided in Saskatchewan for at least 6 consecutive months immediately prior to the date nomination forms are submitted.

Saskatchewan resident
Nomination papers need at least 2 signatures from eligible voters in the division you are running in.​
Signatures for Reeve can be anyone eligible to vote in the RM.
VOTING
To be eligible to vote, you must:
1. be at least 18 years old
2. be a Canadian citizen
3. qualify as one of the following:
reside in the RM of Connaught for at least 3 consecutive months. immediately before election day.
be a registered land owner in the RM of Connaught.
be assessed with respect to land in the RM.
the spouse of a person mention in one of the above.
the chief executive officer of a duly incorporated co-operative, corporation or religious association that is assessed and not exempt.

REGARDLESS OF WHICH DIVISION YOU VOTE IN, YOU ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE TO VOTE FOR REEVE.
WHICH DIVISION DO I VOTE IN?
A person is eligible to vote in only one (1) division. To determine which division you qualify to vote in you must determine which section FIRST applies to you from the following order:

The division you reside in.

If you reside outside the RM, the division your property is assessed.

If you have property in more than one division, you vote in the division with the highest assessed value.

If you own property in multiple divisions that have equal assessed values, you vote in the lowest division number.

If you jointly own property with another person, the total assessed value of that property is to be used when determining which division.
WHICH DIVISION DO I VOTE IN?
6. If you do not reside in the RM and are assessed in more than one division, you may designate which division you wish to vote in by notifying the Administrator prior to September 1.
7. If you made a designation as per #6 above, you are bound by the notice given as long as you continue to be assessed in the same division.
8. If you are assessed with respect to property in one division and your spouse is assessed in another, either person may designate one of those divisions as the division they wish to vote in by notifying the Administrator in writing prior to September 1.
9. Persons mentioned in #8 above may change the designation of the division in which they are eligible to vote by providing written notice to the Administrator 4 years before an election in that division.
